Philanthropy and Community Service at Alpha Phi

Alpha Phi's annual Red Dress Ball For more than 50 years, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as one of their philanthropic priorities.  Through its annual Cardiac Care Award, the Alpha Phi Foundation helps fund research and educational programs that support Cardiac health.  As a result of these efforts, health care professionals and women everywhere are learning more about the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease - the number one killer of women in North America.  The Alpha Phi Foundation is nationally recognized by the First Lady Laura Bush.

Red Dress Ball

The Beta Beta Chapter has followed the tradition of many other Alpha Phi chapters by hosting a Red Dress Ball.  The chapter’s 4th annual Red Dress Ball was held at the East Lansing Marriott Hotel.  Alumnae, collegiate members, parents, E.L. and MSU officials, and leaders from other Greek organizations attended the event.  The evening consisted of a three-course meal, dancing, and a silent auction.  The auction included prizes such as, Pistons tickets, jewelry, a week stay in Australia, sports memorabilia, and many other prizes.  Overall, the event was an immense success, raising more than $5,081 in support of the Alpha Phi Foundation.  The chapter expects that the event will be an even bigger success in years to come.

Alpha Phiesta

This past St. Patrick's Day, Beta Beta threw their first ever Alpha Phiesta. For this philanthropy event, Alpha Phi's served Mexican food to members of the East Lansing community out of their house to support the Alpha Phi Foundation. Due to a considerable turnout and immense popularity Alpha Phi will be holding this event in years to come!
